Vietnam Veteran Visits Classical

On Thursday, May 20, Vietnam Veteran Larry Donahue along with his wife Mrs. Kathleen Donahue, came to visit and speak with some of the history classes at Classical. Mr. Donahue presently works for the Lynn Department of Public Works (DPW). He served in the Vietnam War from 1969 to 1971. He was in the army as a Specialist E4. Mr. Donahue returned home to Lynn in November 1970. On Thursday afternoon he spoke to us about his experiences in the war, including his various jobs. He also spoke about his thoughts and recollections upon returning home and the ending of the Vietnam War. He answered many questions that the students asked. He even showed the currency he was paid with while he served in Vietnam. We were much honored to have this Veteran come speak with us.

A special thanks to the Social Studies department teachers, and especially Mr. Grealish, for putting together a great presentation.
