Story Slam 2011
Brianda Agramonte won first place ( and she was awesome….all of our students were better story tellers than all the other schools…not kidding) for her story “ Big Red Gum” on Saturday at the State Story Telling Slam in Cambridge. She also won $2000 as a Scholarship Award.

The 1st Lynn Classical High Story Slam!
The following students slammed it!! They held the audience's rapt attention on a Friday afternoon just before vacation. Fantastic stories, great telling. These students deserved miles of credit for having the guts to go up on a stage, in front of their peers, and tell their true stories of lessons learned through fun, embarrassment, happiness, and sorrow. We love them all for sharing.
Above - A special rap from Lee Rosario!

How this all came about....
On Monday, 4/11/2011, the
Classical English Department invited all Seniors to the Auditorium for a special
presentation from StoriesLive, a division of masssmouth.org, which is a
non-profit organization that teaches students how to express themselves using
personal narratives. Three excellent storytellers offered a funny and poignant
tale of their own. During the week, the storytellers will be visiting
Senior English classrooms to help each student work on their own narrative. This
Friday, Classical Seniors will demonstrate their own skills. The top students
will have a chance of continuing to a Regional Storytelling competition where
they can earn up to $5000 in scholarship money.
