The Light at the End of the Tunnel

It has been a year and a half since reconstruction began at Classical HS. The school was built with steel beam supports going down 50' or more onto bedrock, which supports the framework and upper stories of the building. Unfortunately, the  floors on the first level were built to float atop the ground, which proceeded to slowly sink. After receiving a settlement from the designers, architects, and contractors, much of the first floor was deconstructed. Guess what ? A walking tour of the first floor on June 23rd, 2009 now shows that the A Wing, B Wing, C Wing, Library, and Guidance Offices are now fully beam-supported and finish contractors are working rapidly. We look forward to having our next 9th Grade Freshmen ( Class of 2013 ) join us in September !!
