Helen Ridley Reaches for the Rafters
Before the basketball game against Beverly High School took place on February 8th, 2011, Athletic Director Bill Devin announced that we were proud to honor one of our all-time great players. In 1999, sophomore Helen Ridley scored a school record 52 points against English High School. In her Senior year, Helen passed the 1,000 point mark. She earned a Basketball Scholarship to Quinnipiac College where she played for the next four years and was the Captain her Senior year of college.
Upon graduation from Quinnipiac, Helen began her basketball coaching career at the University of New Hampshire. After two seasons, she was asked to join Quinnipiac's Woman's Basketball team, where she has worked for the past 4 years. Helen is the daughter of long-time Lynn educator, Principal and Coach James Ridley and his wife Anne. The Head Coach at the time of Helen's awesome achievement is our own Principal, Gene Constantino.
Congratulations to you, Helen Ridley, and good luck in all your future endeavors.
