5/15/08 – CHARLES AND BETTY DEMAKIS MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP – Criteria:  Parent or legal guardian must be a member of the Community Credit Union and applicant must be accepted to a 4 year college.  Award is based on SAT combined score, class rank, GPA, and length of membership as a percentage of age.

5/16/08 – BANK OF AMERICA “BETSEY BABCOCK SCHOLARSHIP” – Criteria:  Award is based on financial need and academics.

5/16/08 – NATIONAL RESTAURANT ASSOC. EDUCATIONAL FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIP – Criteria:  Must have a minimum GPA of 2.75, a minimum of 250 hours of restaurant or food-related service work experience, be majoring in culinary arts or foodservice management and be accepted into such a program, and plan to remain in school for at least 2 terms.  Go to www.nraef.org for application and to apply.

5/17/08 – PINE HILL CIVIC ASSOCIATION SCHOLARSHIP – Criteria:  Applicant’s parent or legal guardian must be a current paid member of the Pine Hill Civic Association.  Award based on financial need, scholastic record, and community involvement. 

5/19/08 – JODI SISSON SCHOLARSHIP – Criteria:  Applicant must be accepted to a 2 or 4 year college and possess excellent academic and behavioral standings.  100 word personal essay required.

5/21/08 – BEES CLUB SCHOLARSHIP – Criteria:  Applicant must be a Lynn resident, sponsored by a club member, and is of Italian extraction.

5/21/08 – UNITARIAN UNIVERSALIST CHURCH OF GREATER LYNN SCHOLARSHIP – Criteria:  Demonstrate financial need, are of a minority race, 1st generation college student, or have a proven record of commitment to community and / or social action. 

5/23/08 – ROBERT C. BYRD HONORS SCHOLALRSHIP – Criteria:  Must be a US citizen, national or permanent resident.  Applicant must have a GPA of 3.5 or better or ranked in the top 5% of his / her senior class, demonstrate leadership and participated in community service.  All completed applications must be submitted to your guidance counselor by 5/23/08. 

5/30/08 – DONALD J. GARRIGAN SCHOLARSHIP – Criteria:  Applicant must be a Breed graduate, took 3 years of History courses at Classical, and participated in volunteer or community service.

6/14/08 – ITALIAN COMMUNITY CENTER SCHOLARSHIP – Criteria:  Must be of Italo-American parentage and attending a four year school.  Based on merit and scholastic achievement.

6/15/08 – NATIONAL ITALIAN AMERICAN SPORTS HALL OF FAME OF MASS SCHOLARSHIP – Criteria:  Award is based on financial need, academic performance, leadership / peer group involvement, athletic involvement, and essay content.

SENIORS: PLEASE PAY CLOSE ATTENTION TO DEADLINES ON ALL SCHOLARSHIPS AND COLLEGE APPLICATIONS.  IT IS IMPERATIVE THAT YOU HAVE THEM IN ON TIME!!!  CHECK OUT THE SCHOLARSHIP BOARD IN GUIDANCE ASAP!!!

4/18/08 – DEREK SHECKMAN LEADERSHIP AWARD – Criteria:  Must be a Jewish student in 10th or 11th grade and demonstrate a commitment to your Jewish community, possess a desire to learn, and be a role model to your peers.
