Classical Signs Agreement with France !
Today, 1/12/09, Sean Elbousty, the new Chairman of World Languages at Classical High School introduces the Regional Consul General of France, M. Francois Gauthier, to Principal Warren White, Superintendent of Schools Catherine Latham, plus a group of interested faculty and Lynn leaders. During the session, the parties signed a Partnership Agreement to help promote the skills of the French language at Classical. The French Consulate will provide materials that will elevate students' interest in the use of French. The French government will also offer advanced teacher training in France.
After the signing of the Partnership Agreement, Representatives of the Senator McGee's Office, Representative Fennell's Office, and the Mayor's Office presented the Consul General with letters of congratulation and friendship. The Consul General presented the school with a copy of the original cartographical map of New France (New England as we know it) from French Explorer Champlain. Soon after, in the Auditorium, Monsieur Gauthier spoke to students currently taking French at Classical.
It was a tres magnifique day for LCHS.
