Takes down Lynn English by Ryan Hathaway
Lynn Classical JV football team defeated Lynn English by a
score of 12-6 Saturday morning at Manning Field. The Rams started strong on
the first play from scrimmage with Astrel Fort
strip-sacking Lynn English's quarterback and Jordan
Pena recovering. The Rams drove down the field behind the strong
running of Brandon Pinnock, Steve Sam and Brad
Scuzzarella. On a 3rd and goal from the 1, quarterback
Jalen Brown took a QB sneak behind Fort and
Cody Flynn for a touchdown. The ensuing
English drive resulted in a punt and Classical again drove the length of the
field. With less than two minutes in the half Pinnock took in a 6 yard
score behind Rapheal Garcia and
Derek Edmonds.
In the second half, Jordan Brown
took over at quarterback for his temporarily injured his brother and piloted
the offense. After Lynn English scored to make it 12-6, English again drove
down to the 30 yardline. The drive was thwarted when
Joe Rose intercepted a double pass, it was Rose's 7th interception on
the season. With 2:07 left in the game, three Jalen
Brown rushes brought up a 4th and 1 from the LC 30. Pinnock followed
an offensive line surge to pick up 15 yards and the first down. Brown took
a knee to end the game. Also playing well on the defensive side of the ball
were Jeff Beck and Jareem Brogden.
Lynn Classical finished the season by winning 5 of their last
6 and 2nd place in the NEC.
Goodbye Gloucester
Lynn Classical Junior
Varsity defeated Gloucester 20-16 this past Saturday at Manning Field.

Derek Edmonds was intercepted
by Jalen Brown. The ensuing drive ended in a touchdown with Brad
Scuzzarella following the blocking of Ramonny Chea and Rapheal
Garcia.
Classical increased its lead
to 12-0 in the 2nd quarter on a 1 yard run by Steve Sam behind Cody
Flynn. With 3 minutes to go into the half, Gloucester drove to the LC 5
yard line but was stuffed on a 4th down attempt by Astrel Fort.
After a Gloucester score
brought the game to within one score, Brandon Pinnock converted a huge
4th and 1 for a touchdown behind the blocking of Edmonds,
Josh Dunham and Fort. An onside kick recovery by Jareem
Brogden sealed the victory. Along with Fort, Jordan Pena, Joe Rose
