Check your schedule to make sure that all of your academic, elective and
PE/Health classes are scheduled
·
Get Involved!! Join school clubs, sports & activities. Volunteer at
local agencies.
·
Pay attention to your daily attendance!
7 unexcused absences/quarter results in failure of all classes for that
quarter.
·
Sign-up for tutoring with your Guidance Counselor.
Do not wait until it is too late!!
·
Talk to your parents about taking the PSAT (the practice test for the
SAT) October 20th *Note:
This is optional and can be taken first quarter junior year
·
Work permits are available in the Main Office before or after school
only
·
If you registered for the PSAT you should take the practice PSAT test at
home under simulated conditions. See
Guidance Counselors for the practice test.
·
Take a career interest inventory at careernet.org (Click
on Career Tests then Career Interests Game)
· Discuss results of the PSAT with your guidance counselor and with your parents
·
Prepare for Mid-terms!!
·
Get to know your Guidance Counselor- make an appointment with your
Counselor to discuss your past, present and/or future!!
·
Continue to check the website for updated information and upcoming
events and dates
·
Scheduling for Grade 11 begins. See
your teachers and/or Department Heads for recommendations for Honors and AP
courses.
·
MCAS- All Grade 10 students
·
Explore occupations, salaries and requirements as reported to the U.S.
Department of Labor at http://www.bls.gov/oco/home.htm
·
Have a family discussion about college costs and financial options.
