Cinco de Mayo 2010  at Classical H.S.

!Feliz Cinco de Mayo!

In recognition of Cinco de Mayo, Ms.Figueroa’s  Spanish class held a Cinco de Mayo activity. On this day the Mexican Army miraculously defeated the French army at the Battle of Puebla. Every fifth of May is a celebration in Mexico, similar to our Fourth of July. The day before, our classes made Mexican flowers and Marachas for decorations. The students brought in Mexican food to celebrate this day. Ms.Figueroa took the initiative to cook all the meat for the tacos. Among the various foods were enchiladas, pastelitos, tacos, tortilla chips, different salsas, guacamole, and nacho cheese. While the students were enjoying these foods, we were listening to different types of Mexican music. After the delicious food, the students completed vocabulary word search and answer questions relating to the history of Cinco de Mayo.
