Brianda Singing and Dancing her Way to the Top
LYNN - Decked out in
jewels, a gown and bright red lipstick, 16-year-old Lynner Brianda Agramonte
recently belted out the song “Diamonds Are a Girl's Best Friend” on Debra
Crosby's Talent Quest TV show, capturing the audience's approval and a slot in
the show's next round.
The Walnut Street singer and Lynn Classical High student was judged the overall
top performer at the show, winning the opportunity to perform Jan. 10 at the
Hard Rock Cafe in Boston, as well as the chance to perform at “The Quest for the
Best” show in Boston Feb. 28.
“I got all dolled up,” she quipped. “I was really nervous and anxious because I
was the last one to perform that night, but I thought, whoa, this is exciting!”
Once Agramonte got on stage she said her musical theater background kicked into
gear and she wowed the crowd.
“I started singing in high school, and I took acting classes with Debra Crosby
(A Quest Actors Studio) and modeling and charm etiquette classes with Kiesha
Conigliaro at Debra's studio. I like to call Debra my spiritual mother.”
Produced in Beverly, Crosby's show has been awarded as one of the top three
cable shows in the category of music and entertainment for all of New England
and New York.
“I'm very happy that we're giving a Lynn kid a chance,” Crosby said. “We are
passionate about being one of the best talent shows in production and are
dedicated to having a positive impact on people's lives and to help make dreams
come true.”
The winner will receive gift certificates, a trophy and various opportunities,
which Crosby said will open some amazing doors.
Agramonte, who aspires to be a triple threat (singer, actor, dancer), performs
in community theater and is in the Lynn Classical Concert Choir, is also a
student filmmaker at Real2Reel Film School at RAW Artworks.
For the Jan. 10 show, Agramonte said she plans to go all out and will sing “New
York, New York” and “Save the Best for Last” by Vanessa Williams.
“My family and friends are really excited, they are so supportive,” she said. “I
know that I was born to entertain.”
The Jan. 10 show will run from 6-8:30 pm., where celebrity judges and the Hard
Rock Cafe audience will choose winners from the seven contestants, who will then
be invited to the finale Feb. 28.
Aside from Agramonte, the other contestants include: Stowe Brown, 12, of
Beverly; Tori Fabiano, 15, of Billerica; Brittany Jones, 14, of Peabody;
Michelle McNall, 20, of Wakefield; Amy Moquin, of Peabody and Emily Trubey, 11,
of Nashua, N.H.
Jones was a second-place winner on Crosby's talent show this year and has
successfully competed and placed in several local talent shows, as well as
performed in many local theater productions.
Moquin has competed in several local talent contests and was a first-place
winner in a 2008 Crosby talent show and won for her category in the 2009 Tanner
City Idol competition.
