is YOUR chance to perform with
the Boston Pops!
It’s the
2008
HERE’S
WHAT YOU DO:
1. Get an application at www.BOSTONPOPS.org
2. Send it in with an
audio/video recording of you performing a song from the musical theater
repertoire (with piano accompaniment ONLY) by MAY 9 to:
Symphony Hall
On
June 2, 20 contestants will compete LIVE at SYMPHONY HALL accompanied by piano
On June 17 & 18, six contestants (three each night) will compete LIVE accompanied by THE BOSTON POPS led by KEITH LOCKHART at SYMPHONY HALL
On July 1, three finalists will compete LIVE accompanied by THE BOSTON POPS led by KEITH LOCKHART at SYMPHONY HALL
The winner will perform LIVE
on July 3 & 4 with KEITH LOCKHART and THE BOSTON POPS at the Fireworks
Spectacular on the Charles River Esplanade (and be ON TV!)
PLEASE NOTE:
1.
ONLY vocal pieces for solo, duet,
trio, quartet, or quintet will be considered
2.
Songs should be NO LONGER than 5
minutes in length
3.
Music MUST have pre-existing
orchestral arrangement
4.
If your school is not producing a
musical, you CAN still participate by working with your music/drama teacher on
an individual piece from the musical theater repertoire
