LCHS School Meeting Decides to Make School Days Longer

The Lynn Classical High School Committee met last night and decided to change the length of the school day for the rest of the school year. A parent suggested starting at 6:00am, because there is very little activity on O'Callaghan Way at this time of day. " Instead of extending school for an extra week due to the many snow days,  starting at 6:00am and finishing at 4:45pm would mean we can still end school on June 17th", one parent added. But School Committeeman Kruschev stood up and banged his shoe on the table, saying he didn't want to be woken up so early to say goodbye to the kids.

A compromise was late reached when Committeeman Alfred E Neumann suggested starting at 6:45am and ending school at 6:00pm so students would still be home for dinner. By a vote of 7 to 2, the Classical School Committee agreed to go with these hours. They also want to cancel April vacation, but that will be decided at an Emergency Meeting next week.
