Invisible
When I pass you in the halls,
I can hardly speak.
I hear them call your name,
And I get to feeling weak.
Smile in my direction,
And my body starts to melt.
Wrote you a note one day,
And told you all I felt.
I told you you’re the reason
Everyday, my eyes, they glow.
I told you that I need you
And I just wanted you to know.
Baby, I love you,
And it’s you I’ll always adore.
Because you gave me a chance
I’m invisible no more.

How the happy friend became
A study in rigidity whose eyes
I closed quite carefully, I’ll never know.
The long day’s last surprise
Meant nothing was the same,
Outside, the snow turned to rain
and back to snow.
The window framed a night
Of soundless traffic passing in the street,
Bare trees grew from the pooled light into dark.
The friend’s life was complete.
Having no proper rite,
I rose and looked out on an edge
of park.
A lampt cloud escaped
Before me as I walked without an aim.
I wondered if my friend had traveled far.
Now nothing was the same,
And falling snow had draped
A passing bus, a car, another
car.
Until the muffled street
Was full of gliding ghosts. Those other olives,
Anonymous to me, were everywhere
A person could arrive,
In houses, dark or lit,
In taxis cursing for another fare

The warm rays
Of them sunny days,
Warms my sin
Just as my baby did.
Being in her arms made me feel so comfortable,
Even though she’s as small as Rudy Huxtable,
Her alabaster skin contrasts my chocolate
Colored skin of ebony,
But it’s okay ‘cause one day we gonna be
The couple on the covers of GQ, Vogue, and
Jet Magazine.
Sometimes I think my love for her
Is gonna be the death of me,
But ‘til then my sunshine gonna
Warm my skin,
Just like the sun did,
With them warm rays,
On them sunny days. --Dijoun Jones

Dedicated to all my friends out there…
We are friends,
Til the end,
This is our last year,
Knowing it’s not fair
Our journey has only begun,
Let’s live it and have fun,
I’ll miss you all.
Keep your head up and stand tall,
I’ll be there for you whenever, wherever,
Friends forever,
If you need me I’ll be there,
All you gotta do is call,
Knowing after our graduation we all will go separate ways,
I don’t know what I’ll say,
It’s a day of happiness and a day of sadness,
Everyone is leaving and graduating,
I know my memories of my friends,
Will never be gone,
A day for smiles,
A day for tears,
But all we got to know is that we care,
For one another,
And loving each other,
I’ll definitely miss you,
And that’s true,
Because ur my bestest of friends,
And our journey has only begun but our friendship will never end.

From Blackest Day to Coldest Night
Red flames are burning bright,
To show off evil’s flight.
The blackest dost has hit the floor
And flies through
Heaven’s door.
Through the eyes of Heaven’s king,
The song of tears is what we sing.
Hell’s long day is in the past.
The memories forever
last.
Past the night of evil’s flight,
We fight for what is right.
Reclaim our name and join as one.
From blackest flame of Hell we come.

The Girl I’m Looking At
I look at her in astonishment
Life for her is like a punishment
Her eyes reveal her sadness
Her pain is turning to madness
The girl I’m looking at has no name
And she believes she is the one to blame
She is a blank page in a book
When betrayal comes she can’t look
There’s something different about her smile
It only comes out for a while
When I look deep down I find a frown
The girl I’m looking at feels like a clown
I can’t believe what she is becoming
Waiting for something that isn’t coming
She wants somebody to walk by her side
So she won’t feel she’s been left aside
And then I notice something else
The girl I’m looking at looks like myself
I can’t believe I’m saying this
But the girl I’m looking at is me.

Ode to My Mom
I need you more than I’ll ever know.
If I didn’t have you
What would I do?
Without you, I wouldn’t be
The person I am today.
You mick me up when I am down.
I may not always show it,
But what else can I say,
I love you Ma.
I am going to miss you so much next year
At college.
Hopefully, you will remember
What I have said to you
Here.
It should bring you comfort
And a sense of trust.
You may not always appreciate
How I treat you;
Frankly, I feel guilty
Afterwards.
You will never leave us
As friends and
Relationships do.
You’ll be there now
And always
For the Vocino’s.
Our family shall not be
Destroyed or detached,
No matter what God
Has in store for us.
We stay strong and
Last long!
You are the world’s greatest
Mother
Who does not bother
Anyone, even your boss Addie.
She is just moody,
Sadly.
Now you know how I feel
About you
And all that you do.
Thank you Mommy.
Es amor!
