powder puff football 11/21/04
Every year, the Sunday before our Thanksgiving football game against Lynn English H.S., our Senior girls get to play a "Powder Puff" game against English. This involves a lot of preparation and planning. Thanks to Ms. Greer and Coach Runner for all their efforts.
The game this year at the Manning Bowl was on a cold, muddy day. Over a thousand students, faculty, and friends showed up at noon. Our girls were dressed in their officially numbered team jerseys with funny nicknames on the back, special running shoes, mouth guards, and school-colored socks.
The English H.S. team had a superb quarterback/running back who took their team to victory, but the victory was on our side also. Our Seniors fought just as hard, got injured, and got back up to play again. Of course, they had a lot of encouragement from our fans, especially a group of vocal young men with T-shirts that read "Classical Roadie".
