HALT (Harmony Among Lynn Teens)2006
Last Friday on May 12th the annual HALT Conference was held at Lynn Classical High School, from 4:00 to 9:00pm. The event is dedicated to gathering teens from all over Lynn and bringing them together to discuss concerns for the city and expressing their ideas on how to make Lynn a better place to live.
Many organizations were also represented, including the Lynn Health Clinic, the North Shore Rape Crisis Center, the YMCA, and Girls. Inc. During the Conference, their representatives were fielded many questions and concerns from the teens.
There was a fantastic guest speaker, Mrs. Presley, who came and gave a motivating speech to the participants. There were also workshops on teen pregnancy, health, dance, and drug abuse and prevention.
The program finished off with a Talent Show, where the students got to show off their skills in dancing, singing, and rapping. In the end, the event was a complete hit. Thanks to all who came and we hope to see you back next year.
