Beware - Hypnotist in the Classroom

"I don't believe in hypnosis. Really, I don't believe I can be hypnotized. You see, it didn't work - - - WAIT . . . I CAN'T GET OUT OF MY CHAIR !! "

Mr. Ray Smith, Licensed Psychologist ( in practice for forty -40 - plus years), Classical Alumni, former Classical teacher, Founder and Director of the Cambridge Institute of Hypnosis, visited Mr. Grealish's classes yesterday.

Mr. Smith has been very generous with his time in doing demonstrations/lectures for our students. He speaks to  Psychology classes and, in addition to his lecture, he answers students questions about careers in Psychology and courses to consider taking in college and at the graduate level.

These photos show Mr. Smith demonstrating relaxation techniques. Students raised their arms, closed their eyes, and, through the power of suggestion, one arm was pulled up by a "balloon" while the other arm was weighted down. The students writing on the board have been "regressed back" to younger years through hypnosis and are writing words at various age/grade levels. Some students were stuck to their chairs when Mr. Smith suggested there was glue on the seat. He also brought back forgotten memories from some students.

This lecture and demonstration was very well received, enjoyed, and appreciated by the students.
