Famous Author Returns to Classical

Classical 10th -12th Graders were given a Summer Reading assignment - - - to read the book "Dark Tide" and submit reports in the fall to their English, Social Studies, and Science classes. Before the summer, the author himself came and read a few sections of the book to stimulate our students' interest. Last week, Stephen Puleo graciously returned to discuss the book.

In lieu of a speaking fee, Mr.Puleo gratefully accepted our students' donation to his favorite charity, JDRF (the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.)

Mr. Puleo made great use of the hour spent in the Auditorium - a true Question and Answer session with Classical students. The questions were excellent he responded to them in a way all could understand.

The Question and Answer format brought a lot of students to their feet to ask questions of the Award-winning writer.

Below, many students chose to make a diorama of the giant molasses vat and its dimensions for the

Science Project portion of the Summer Reading assignment.

After the Event, many students lined up to have the author, Mr. Puleo,  personally sign their copies of "Dark Tide".
