Classical Students Help Cobbet School Celebrate Literacy Week

Classical Freshman Academy students journeyed with our librarian, Mrs. Donna Deegan to the adjacent Cobbet Elementary School on Tuesday and Thursday afternoon to help them celebrate Literacy Week.  Twenty-nine students went into the various Cobbet classes from kindergarten to grade five and read some exciting tales.  Mrs. Mary Hooks, the Cobbet librarian selected some fabulous stories for the read aloud sessions.   Our television crew, under the direction of Mrs. Kathy Grenier, filmed some of the action for the Classical High Morning News.  The high school students were impressed by the excellent behavior of the elementary school children and enjoyed reading very much.  The Cobbet teachers commented on what a nice job the Academy students did of reading with expression and acting out parts of some stories.  On Thursday night, some of the older Classical High students from the O’Callaghan Way building also helped Mrs. Hooks with her book fair during the parent open house.

Cobbet School librarian Mrs. Mary Hooks would like to thank Ram Readers Carla Bermudez, Kailyn Courts, Anne Jean and Chastity Mathurin for assisting with the Book Fair and Literacy Week celebration during the Parents” Open House.
